Bow Wow is tired of all of rap legends going broke in Hip Hop and states the culture requires a Board to avoid this from taking place once again.
“Hip hop needs a board! No different than the NBA w/ the players association. A committee,” he tweeted. That can set guidelines and keep things in control and safeguard this thing we call hip hop! And have a retirement strategy for the og rap artists. I dislike seeing my heros alcohol’d out no cash simply cleaned.”
He isn’t the very first rap artist to recommend supporting the hip hop seniors.
In 2020, Swizz Beatz raised the concept around of contributing $1 million each to Hip Hop creators such as Kool Herc and Sugar Hill Gang. He then talked on Live with LL Cool J, who stated he’d be among the very first to contribute to the “Hip Hop Founders Fund.”
“You always talk about you about the people, you’re about making sure these icons get the love and the respect and appreciation they supposed to get, and you’ve been pushing it forward,” LL informed Swizz.
